Songwriter and percussionist Amanda Rachel Breslow is always striving to explore the emotional and spiritual connection audiences share with musical experiences. Earning her Bachelor's of Arts in Composition from Columbia College Chicago, Breslow has had the rich experience of studying under such diverse composers as Marcos Balter, Fengshi Yang, Eliza Brown, and Philip Seward, while also studying under percussion professor Jarrett Hicks for five years. In March 2013, she collaborated with Quince Contemporary Vocal Ensemble to premiere "Magdalene", a piece based on the text of the ancient Gnostic Gospel of Mary. "Magdalene" also marked her New York premiere at the HERE Arts Center in Soko.
Since 2014, she has supplied music for Philadelphia based production company Creative Outfit. She also writes with various Los Angeles based singer/songwriters, including Marie Kingsley, with whom she is a member of the LA-based indie duo, Kingslo.
Armed with a passion for animation, Breslow, along with Australian composer Ellie Cumming, co-founded Queens of the Playground, a female-driven creative collective that creates and develops forward thinking original animated content.
Presently, Breslow is writing the lyrics and screenplay to "Ripple", an original feature length animated musical with Ellie Cumming. She is also developing a genre-defying stage musical with Australian film composer Angela Little.
